The frequently asked questions (FAQs) for each competition provided below highlight questions that are often asked. Please refer here before making an inquiry.

Sports

Archery(Outdoor Archery)

Those who were over 30 years old (those born on or before December 31, 1991),
- For safety reasons, persons who have archery experience and whose arrows will not miss the target.
- Athletes competing in the Para Athlete Division must be designated a Sport Class Status by their country’s para archery federation (Japan Para Archery Federation for Japan).

Athletics(Track & Field)

(How to modify the number of event)

1. Click “My Page> Registration Status etc. > Registration Status> 2. Confirmation of entry status > Confirm and/or change details”.
2. Click "Information regarding participating events > Confirm and/or change details".
3. Please click "Modify application" when currently registered competition entry information is displayed.
4. The screen for selecting event will be displayed. Decrease the number of events appropriate to the rule and click "Next".
*Currently applied events has "join" sign, and you can remove "join" sign by clicking the displayed "join" sign.
5. After that, proceed to further procedure as the same way at the time of competition entry, and finally click "Set". When "The registered entry information has been changed." is displayed, the change of the competition entry information is completed.
Anyone over the age of 30 (born on or before 21 May, 1991) are able to participate.
However, participation in Para-category must meet any of the following conditions.
【Domestic participants】
a) The participant is certified as such domestic or overseas
b) The participant has a physical impairment certificate or rehabilitation certificate.
【Overseas participants】
a) The participant is certified as such in his/her own country or is certified internationally.
b) Persons who wish to participate for reasons other than the item a) must state the content of their impairments when applying. The organiser will comprehensively determine whether the condition is satisfied based on the described contents and reply whether their participation is allowed or not.

As a general rule, the entry and classification in the category of athletes with impairments is based on self-declaration.
In addition, participants cannot protest the participation qualification and classification.

Athletics(10km Road Race)

4. The screen for selecting event will be displayed. Click “Next” and correct your own record on the “Step.5 Input of competition information” page.
5. After that, proceed to further procedure as the same way at the time of competition entry, and finally click "Set". When "The registered entry information has been changed." is displayed, the change of the competition entry information is completed.
Anyone over the age of 30 (as of May 21, 2021) are able to participate. However, for participant who have vision impairment and unable to run by themselves needs to indicate accompanying runner's name at the time of their entry registration on designated column.
In addition, if the accompanying runner needs participants kit or transportation pass etc., please register as Non-Playing Official or Supporter.

Athletics(Half Marathon)

We are currently considering the locations and number of checkpoint, also time limits. We will make an announcement as soon as it is confirmed, thank you for your patient.
In principle, the competition will be held only on Saturday, 29 May, however if the number of entry exceeds a certain number, we will consider holding the competition on Sunday, 30 May as well.
We plan to contact you in March ~ mid April, 2021 regarding which date you are competing. Please understand that we are unable to accept your request in advance.
Anyone over the age of 30 (born on or before 21 May, 1991) are able to participate. However, for participant who have vision impairment and unable to run by themselves needs to indicate accompanying runner's name at the time of their entry registration on designated column.
In addition, if the accompanying runner needs participants kit or transportation pass etc., please register as Non-Playing Official or Supporter.

Athletics(EKIDEN)

Your age is determined as at 21 May, 2021.
Anyone over the age of 30 (born on or before 21 May, 1991) are able to participate. Please note that the gender and age for each category/section are specified.

Athletics(Race Walking)

Anyone over the age of 30 (born on or before 21 May, 1991) are able to participate. However, participation of persons who know the rules of the heel and toe walking race is recommended.

Badminton

Anyone over the age of 35 (born on or before 31 December, 1986) are able to participate. Please confirm your competition grade, prior to your entry registration.

Baseball(Baseball)

Anyone over the age of 30 (born on or before 31 December, 1991) are able to participate. However, please confirm your competition grade prior to your entry registration. In addition, please note that there are conditions of composing team, such as each team must have at least one coach, umpire, scorer etc.

Baseball(Rubber Baseball)

Anyone over the age of 30 (born on or before 31 December, 1991) are able to participate. However, please confirm your competition grade prior to your entry registration (Only one event per person).
Also, individual participation is possible, however team composition will be decided by Organising Committee.
In addition, all participants must enter their history of participating in baseball competition at the time of entry registration.

Basketball

Yes, it is possible to participate in Reversible Uniform.
1.Age requirement: Minimum age is 30 (born on or before 31 December 1991).
In line with the sport-specific rules, an athlete must compete in their designated age group, with your age determined as at 31 December 2021. For example, if you are 39 during Games time but have turned 40 by 31 December 2021, you would compete in the 40+ age category.

2.Japanese nationals with impairments who wish to participate in the wheelchair basketball competition must complete any one of the following procedures during registration.
 (1)Players who are currently members of the Japan Wheelchair Basketball Federation (JWBF) must provide a photocopy of their physical disability certificate as a PDF file during entry application, and bring the original certificate on the competition day. Additionally, they must input their JWBF registration number and wheelchair basketball point classification during the registration process.
 (2)Players other than (1) must provide a photocopy of their physical disability certificate as a PDF file during entry application, and bring the original certificate on the competition day. They will then receive a wheelchair basketball point classification during competition days.
Please be aware that this point classification can only be used during World Masters Games 2021 Kansai, and cannot be used in other basketball events.

3.Overseas nationals with impairments who wish to participate in the wheelchair basketball competition must complete any one of the following procedures during registration.
 (1)Players who are currently members of their national Wheelchair Basketball Federation must provide a photocopy of a classification card from their National Federation, or some similar official document to prove their wheelchair basketball point classification (documents can only be accepted in English) as a PDF file during registration, and bring the original document on the competition day. They must also input their point classification during the registration process.
 (2)Players other than (1) must provide a photocopy of an official certificate confirming your physical disability or certificate from their doctor (documents can only be accepted in English) as a PDF file, and bring the original document on the competition day. They will then receive a wheelchair basketball point classification during competition days.
 Please be aware that this point classification can only be used during World Masters Games 2021 Kansai, and cannot be used in other basketball events.

* If there is a clear difference between point classification of players who wish to play wheelchair basketball and their actual physical activities, the organiser may change point classification.

Canoe(Marathon)

Anyone over the age of 30 (born on or before 31 December, 1991) are able to participate.
However, some of participants over the age of 25 ( born on or before 31 December 1996) for Mixed relay are permitted to participate.

Canoe(Sprint)

Anyone over the age of 30 (born on or before 31 December, 1991) are able to participate. In addition, for participants with impairments must register as athletes with following procedures:
(1) Japanese nationals with impairments who wish to participate must register with the Japan Para Canoe Association before applying for participation.
(2) Overseas nationals with impairments who wish to participate must register with the International Canoe Federation or the National Federation of their own country before applying for participation and submit a PDF file of the relevant documents at the time of entry registration.

Canoe(Slalom)

Anyone over the age of 35 (born on or before 31 December, 1986) are able to participate, also athletes must be capable of self-rescue.

Canoe(Polo)

Anyone over the age of 30 (as of December 31, 2021) can participate. Please apply as a Team.

Canoe(Dragon Boat)

Anyone over the age of 30 (born on or before December 31, 1991) can participate.
However, if you have a heart disease, such as wearing a pacemaker, you will not be allowed to participate to avoid a sudden burden on your body.
In addition, for those with disabilities can also ride on the Dragon Boat to participate, if they can sit and row the boat.

Cycling(Track)

Those who were over 30 years old (those born on or before December 31, 1991),
1.Eligibility
Participants must be registered with a UCI member federation as at 2021 as follows:
【Domestic Participants】Must hold a UCI ID and/or a JCF license with a registration number.
【Overseas Athlete】 Must hold a UCI ID number.
*No temporary license will be issued.
2.Exclusion of eligibility
Athletes who fall under any of the following cannot participate.
(1)Athletes who have participated in the World Championships, Continental Championships
(eg: Asian Championship), Olympics (2020 Tokyo Olympics), Regional Games (eg: Asian Games), and World Cup track races (excluding races only for masters) in 2020 and 2021.
(2)In addition, athletes who have participated in a competition listed on the UCI International Calendar in 2020 or 2021(any races that earn UCI points such as professional tour races. Not including Gran Fondo or masters competitions which do not award UCI points).
(3)Athletes who are members of a team registered with UCI in 2020 or 2021.
(4)Athletes who are suspended or punished by either UCI or the National Federation affiliated with UCI
* Exclusion rules above do not apply to athletes in para sport divisions except for paragraph 2.4.
3.Necessary procedures
(1)Declare own record of 200 mFTT (flying time trial), 1 km (500 m) TT, 3 km (2 km) IP self-recording, etc.
(2)Declare whether or not you have participated in any track races within 2 years (2019 – 2020).
* As this will be an international competition, in some events there will be many athletes racing at the same time on the track. To ensure the safety of all athletes, we recommend that you gain some experience on the bank of a velodrome by taking part in a track race before the Games.
4.Japanese nationals with impairments who wish to participate must register with the Japan Paracycling Federation before applying for participation. They must also have a designated Sport Class Status.
5.Overseas nationals with impairments who wish to participate are required to hold the following licenses prior to application and and attach copies of licenses in PDF when applying for participation:
・Cycling National License issued by your country’s National Federation.
・Cycling International License required for participating in an international competition (and a designated Sport Class Status)

Cycling(Road Race)

Those who were over 30 years old (those born on or before December 31, 1991),
1.Eligibility
Participants must be registered with a UCI member federation as at 2021 as follows:
【Domestic Participants】Must hold a UCI ID and/or a JCF license with a registration number.
【Overseas Athlete】 Must hold a UCI ID number.
*No temporary license will be issued.

3.Necessary procedures
Declare whether or not you have participated in any road races within 2 years (2019 – 2020).
* As this will be an international event, there will be many athletes racing at the same time on the road. To ensure the safety of all athletes, we recommend that you gain some experience racing in groups and take part in a road race before the Games.
4.Japanese nationals with impairments who wish to participate must register with the Japan Paracycling Federation before applying for participation. They must also have a designated Sport Class Status.
5.Overseas nationals with impairments who wish to participate are required to hold the following licenses prior to application and attach copies of licenses in PDF when applying for participation:
・Cycling National License issued by your country’s National Federation.
・Cycling International License required for participating in an international competition (and a designated Sport Class Status)

Cycling(Mountain Bike)

Eligibility is as follows:
(1) Age requirement: Minimum age is 30 (born on or before 31 December 1991)
(2) To compete in any events in the Cycling competition at the Games, each athlete must hold a valid licence issued by their national federation of member of the Union Cycliste Internationale.
(3) Exclude the following competitor: UCI ranking holder, at least 1 point. / Member of a team registered with the UCI.
(4) A ‘Temporary Licence’ will be available for riders who do not hold an annual Cycling Licence.
Athletes will register “Temporary Licence” at the venue with valid identification (i.e., passport, driver's licence).
This temporary licence is valid only for participating in the World Masters Games 2021 Kansai.

Cycling(BMX)

Eligibility is as follows:
(1) Age requirement: Minimum age is 30 (born on or before 31 December 1991)
(2) To compete in any events in the Cycling competition at the Games, each athlete must hold a valid licence issued by their national federation of member of the Union Cycliste Internationale.
(3) Exclude the following competitor: UCI ranking holder, at least 1 point. / Member of a team registered with the UCI.
(4) A ‘Temporary Licence’ will be available for riders who do not hold an annual Cycling Licence.
Athletes will register “Temporary Licence” at the venue with valid identification (i.e., passport, driver's licence).
This temporary licence is valid only for participating in the World Masters Games 2021 Kansai.

Dance Sports

1. Event 1-8: Participants must be member of WDSF(carry WDSF- e Card(ID-card(MIN))
2.Event 9-15: Participants must be members of JDSF Athlete
* Any number of categories can be entered if they meet the eligibility requirements of the dancesports competition guidelines.

Football(Football)

Anyone over the age of 30 (born on or before December 31, 1991) can participate. Please confirm your competing grade and proceed to entry registration. In addition, please carefully review Sport Information Guide prior to your entry registration (minimum number of players to register, rules for uniforms and precautions on participation etc. are described).

Football(Futsal)

Anyone over the age of 30 (born on or before December 31, 1991) can participate. Please confirm your competing grade and proceed to entry registration. In addition, please carefully review Sport Information Guide prior to your entry registration (minimum number of players to register, rules for uniforms and precautions on participation etc. are described).

Flying Disc(Ultimate)

Age requirement for GMX (Grand Master Mixed category) is over 40 years old (as of December 31, 2021), and for MX (Master Mixed category) it is over 30 years old (as of December 31, 2021). There are no eligibility required. Anyone can participate.

Gateball

Minimum age required to participate is 30 years old (born on or before December 31, 1991), and apply as a Team.

Golf

It will be used for the play fee (including golf cart, various expenses, golf course usage tax) on the competition day.
Provided, however, that the cost of eating, drinking and purchasing goods at the clubhouse and course shops must be paid by each player.
1. First, take a photo of your handicap index certificate with your smartphone or digital camera, and save the image on your desktop, etc..
2. Click "Click here for entry" on the Games website (please find URL below) to move to the entry system.

Click “Next” button and proceed to Step.5, then you will see a "Select file" button at the upload location, so please click the button.
4. A screen to select file will appear, therefore select the location where you saved the image of the photo in step 1, then select the image data and press the "Open" button to save the data in the entry system. It will be uploaded in the entry system. If you could complete upload successfully, press the "Next" button to fast forward some pages, and at the end, "The registered entry information has been changed." is displayed, the change of the competition entry information is completed.
Anyone over the age of 30 (born on or before December 31, 1991) can participate.
Players must upload a document which certifies the handicap index according to the World Handicap System on the entry system at the time of applying for entry.
For those who have not yet adopted WHS, handicap index issued by a governing body would be acceptable.

Ground Golf

Anyone over the age of 30 (born on or before December 31, 1991) can participate.

Handball

Anyone over the age of 30 (born on or before December 31, 1991) can participate, however athletes can only participate in either the ranking competition or in the exchange oriented completion, but not in both. In the exchange oriented competition, individual application for participation is allowed (Members of the team will be decided by the Kyotanabe Local Organising Committee), and in the ranking competition, no individual application for participation is allowed.

Hockey

Age requirement if over the age of 35 (born on or before December 31, 1986). However, any player who has been suspended by the Hockey Competition Organising Committee or an authorised hockey association will not be eligible for participating in the competition until the suspension is lifted.

Judo

(How to modify registered contents)
If you are registered for individual division, "Athletes selected individual division, please select your weight class" at "Step.5 Input of competition information" of the entry system, therefore please enter information. When click "click here for entry" on the Games website (please find URL below) to move to the entry system.

3. Please click "Modify application" when currently registered competition entry information is displayed.
4. The screen for selecting event will be displayed. "Join" sign has been entered for the event you are currently entering, please click "Next".
5. Check the items that need to be changed in "Step.5 Input competition information", enter/select the correct contents, and then click "Next".
6. The confirmation screen for extra fee will be displayed. If there is no problem, click "Next".
7. The details of the modified competition entry information will be displayed. Please check if the entered information is correct, and if there is no problem, click “OK”.
8. When "The registered entry information has been changed." is displayed, the change of the competition entry information is completed.
Minimum age is 30 (born on or before December 31, 1991) , and in principle, Japanese competitors must be at least a shodan grade holder and must be registered with the All Japan Judo Federation. Overseas competitors are limited to those who have acquired Ikkyu or higher rank to participate in the competition.

Karate

Minimum age is 40 (born on or before December 31, 1981) for Men, and minimum age is 35 (born on or before December 31, 1986) for Women, also for athletes in Japan must be members registered with the All Japan Karatedo Federation and must be certified rank holders.
For Overseas Athletes, they need to be a member of NF in their country and must hold a NF rank in their own countries.

Lifesaving

Each participant must register in the entry system individually, when applying for the team sport (including pairs for Doubles etc.).
The entry procedure of the group competition, in the entry system on the WEB, is as follows.
(There are also group competitions with different entry procedures.) Example: Judo (team competition))

1 First, the representative of the team will enter as a 'team representative'. That will lead to a 'team' entry.
2 If the 'member of the team' is confirmed at the time of the entry, by entering member's e-mail address, all members of the team will receive entry form to the 'Team' automatically after team representative completed all transactions related to his/her entry registration.
3 Each member of the team who receives the invitation e-mail needs to complete entery registration individually as a member of the team.
4 In addition, the difference between register as a 'Team representative' and 'Member of the team' is as follows. 'Team representative' will choose 'Create Team' on the 'Step 5 Competition Entry Information' screen at the time of registration, and 'Member of the Team' select the participating team from the 'List of invited team'.
※In case there are more than one person becomes a 'Team representative', and created different teams for one group, you cannot integrate teams into a single team.
A team representative will send an email after he/she completed the entry (transaction completed).
First, make sure that the team representative has completed the entry and that your e-mail address has been added to the e-mail list by the team representative.
In addition, if you have anti-spam countermeasures, etc., you may not receive the e-mail correctly. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please change your setting to receive e-mail from "`wmg2021.jp" so that you can receive e-mail from us.
Minimum age is 25 (born on or before December 31, 1996) and athlete must be enrolled in a certified lifesaving club.

Orienteering(Sprint)

Anyone over the age of 35 (born on or before December 31, 1986) can participate. Since the Orienteering competition will be held as the World Masters Orienteering Championships, ID of IOF is required at the time of entry. Each athlete is required to gain the ID by registering IOF Eventor (https://eventor.orienteering.org/Register).

Orienteering(Forest)

Anyone over the age of 35 (born on or before December 31, 1986) can participate. Since the Orienteering competition will be held as the World Masters Orienteering Championships, ID of IOF is required at the time of entry. Each athlete is required to gain the ID by registering IOF Eventor (https://eventor.orienteering.org/Register).

Rowing

Age requirement for participation is over the age of 27 (born on or before December 31, 1994).

There are not particular eligibility requirements, however in case an athlete hires a “boat from the organiser,” his/her weight, height and shoe size must be entered at the time of entry.

For Para-category participation, please note following three points before entry. 

【About eligibility for participation in the category for athletes with impairments】
① Only persons with physical impairments, including visual impairment can participate and must be certified as persons with impairments by public institutions in the respective country.
② Applicants for PR1 and PR2 must be certified as persons with impairments by FISA (International Rowing Federation) or NF (National Boat Federation in the respective country).
③ For safety reasons, persons with visual impairments cannot participate in the single skull (1x).
※After each race, the conformity in the category for persons with impairments may be checked randomly after the end of each race. The penalty for false declaration shall be the exclusion from the race.

Rugby

Anyone over the age of 30 (born on or before December 31, 1991), male or female can participate. However for the category specified separately limited to Women's athlete is for over the age of 27.

Sailing(Sailing)

Minimum age is 30 (born on or before December 31, 1991) and competitors must be members of each national federation participating in World Sailing.
Also, Laser and Laser Radial, Tasar and Hansa 303 are not allowed to participate at the same time.
In addition, participants of Laser or Laser Radial Laser will not be able to compete in the Windsurfing on the same date.

Sailing(Windsurfing)

Minimum age is 30 (born on or before December 31, 1991) and competitors must be members of each national federation participating in World Sailing.
Athletes participating in the Windsurfing will not be able to participate in Laser or Laser Radial competition on the same date.

Shooting(Clay)

1.Japanese athletes must be in possession of a legal license for possession of guns or an explosives transfer permit (firearms cartridge permit).
* At the time of the event, participants must present a copy of the registration certificate from the Japan Clay Shooting Association or the firearms cartridge permit.
2.Japanese nationals who wish to participate in the Para-Trap competition must register with the Japan Para Shooting Sport Federation before applying for participation.
* Participants must present both copies of the registration certificate of the Japanese Sports Shooting Federation for the Disabled and the firearms cartridge permit.
3.Further information for those who will be participating in the games from overseas, including the Para-Trap event, will be announced at a later date.

[Age Requirement]
The minimum age requirement is 30 (born on or before 31 December 1991).
In line with the sport-specific rules, an athlete must compete in their designated age group (with your age determined as of 31 December 2021). For example, if you are 49 during the time of the Games, but will be turning 50 by 31 December 2021, you would have to compete in the 50+ age category.

Shooting(Rifle)

Age requirement is over the age of 30 (born on or before December 31, 1991).
1. Japanese nationals must be members of the Japan Rifle Shooting Association.
2. Overseas nationals must be a registered member of International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) member federations. Please attach the copy of your registration certificate at the time of your application.
3. Japanese nationals with impairments who wish to participate must register with the Japan Para Sports Shooting Federation before applying for participation.
4. Overseas nationals with impairments who wish to participate must be a registered player classified by World Shooting Para Sport. Relevant PDF documents should be attached at the time of their application.
 *SH2 class athletes need to obtain permission for their loaders in advance too.

Softball

 We will use the official test sphere (no. 3). The size of the ball (circumference) is 30. 48cm±0. 32cm and the weight of the ball is 187. 82g±10. 63g, 190g±5g for rubber ball.
 Rubber balls are mainly used at the tournaments in Japan, and the structure is made by molding the center (core) into a ball shape with cork or the like, winding strongly with yarn, and covering the surface with hard rubber.
 Rubber balls which we will use are mainly used at the Masters tournament in Japan, and the structure is as follows; made by molding the center (core) into a ball shape with cork or the like, winding strongly with yarn, and covering the surface with hard rubber. The size of the ball (circumference) is 30. 48cm±0. 32cm, the weight of the ball is 190g±5g, and the size and weight of the ball is about the same as the leather ball.
 You can participate either or both in the first three days and the second three days. If you participate in both the first and second half three days, the maximum number of days for competition will be six days.
 In addition, if you want to participate in both the first half schedule and the second half schedule, you need to enter two events of the first half and the second half of the schedule at the time of your entry registration.
 Please consider participating in both the first and second half competitions.
Minimum age is 35 (born on or before December 31, 1986), and Teams matching with age category are able to participate.
Competitive grade is highly competitive and which is applicable to players competing in regional competitions and playing in club teams.
Recreational grade is appreciable to players with a level at which players enjoy the game for hobby and interaction.

Soft tennis

Anyone over the age of 30 (born on or before December 31, 1991) can participate. Persons with impairments are also able to participate, however, wheelchair or using equipment which may cause damage to the court are not allowed for participation.
Athlete grade is for advanced soft tennis players, and Recreational grade is for players with few experience.
Athletes are not allowed to participate both the Recreational grade and Athlete grade.
Please note that the calculation method of the age category differs for each grade.

Squash

Participants must be over the age of 30 as of May 20, 2021 (born on or before May 20, 1991), and requires individual registration (SPIN) with the World Squash Federation (WSF).
Provided, however, that individual registration (SPIN) with WSF is not required for the Challenge class.

Swimming(Swimming)

Participants over the age of 25 as of December 31, 2021, and have met following eligibility requirements can participate.
(1) Swimmers who are healthy and training regularly and also agree to abide by the motto of Master's swimming. Swimmers who understand and agree with the contents of this document.
(2) Japanese nationals with impairments who wish to participate must register with the Japanese Para Swimming Federation before applying for participation.
(3) Overseas nationals with impairments who wish to participate must complete one of the following registrations before applying for participation, and attach a copy of PDF file of the relevant documents when applying for participation.
①  Player registration for World Para Swimming
②  Persons with physical impairments must register with the National Federation of own country
③  Persons with intellectual impairments must register with INAS

Swimming(Diving)

Limited to persons with experience who is over the age of 25 (born on or before December 31, 1996) can participate.

Swimming(Water Polo)

Anyone who is over the age of 30 (born on or before December 31, 1991) can participate.

Swimming(Artistic Swimming)

Participants over the age of 25 (born on or before December 31, 1996), and have met following eligibility requirements can participate.
(1)Limited to persons with experience.
(2) For safety reasons, swimmers with impairments are desirable to participate in the event of the corresponding category. And, no swimmers without impairments are allowed to participate in the category of swimmers with impairments
(3) Japanese nationals with impairments who wish to participate in the competition should register with the Japan Para Artistic Swimming Association before making an application.
(4) Overseas nationals with impairments who wish to participate in the competition may have to submit a PDF file of one of the following documents ① to ➂ when applying for participation as needed.
①Certificate issued by a public institution
②Doctor's medical certificate
③Participation certificate issued by the organization the overseas athlete are belongs to
(5) In the case athletes with impairments participate in the general category, they need to contact to declare their impairments to event organisers.
(6) In case athletes with impairments have a helper, they need to inform that at registration. Furthermore, helpers of athletes with impairment need to wear bib distributed by the organiser on competition days.

Swimming(Open Water)

Anyone over the age of 25 (born on or before December 31, 1996) can participate. However, please check the competition level and category carefully by taking into account your previous experience of participation in the competition, time, etc. when entering.
In addition, people with impairments must participate in the competition under the same conditions as persons without impairments.

Table Tennis

Anyone over the age of 30 (born on or before December 31, 1991) can participate.
However, when participating in Para-Sports category, participants must meet the following eligibility. For participants who wishes to participate in the Para-Sports category, if the type of impairment declared is clearly different from the type of impairment for participation of the person with disabilities to participate in, the Organiser may not allow the participation.
【Domestic Athletes】
● Athletes who wish to participate “Standing (Upper extremity impairment)” “Standing (Lower extremity impairment)” and “Wheelchair”, must attach a PDF file of a photo copy of physical disabilities certificate and bring original certificate on the day of competition.
● Athletes who wish to participate “Intellectual impairment” must attach a PDF file of their photo copy of medical care certificate and bring original certificate on the competition day.
【Oversea Athletes】
● Athletes who wish to participate “Standing (Upper extremity impairment)” “Standing (Lower extremity impairment)” and “Wheelchair”, must attach a PDF file of a photo copy of a certificate which shows their impairments or a medical certificate written by physicians (English-only) and bring original certificate on the day of competition.

Taekwondo

Age requirement (minimus age) is over 30 years old (born on or before 31 December 1991) and participants need to meet the following criteria.
・ Participants in the World Masters Games (WMG) 2021 Taekwondo competition must be members of the national federation (NF), a subsidiary of the World Taekwondo Federation (WT).
・ Participants are required to submit their ranks at Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Headquaters) and past match results (experience in international competitions, national match results.)
Furthermore, participants in the WMG 2021 Kansai can participate as individuals rather than a national representative.

Tennis

1.General category participants
 *Anyone aged 30 years old or older (born on or before 31 December 1991) can participate
 (provided, however, entries are on a first-come, first-served basis)
2.Wheelchair and Quad participants
 *Anyone aged 30 years old or older (born on or before 31 December 1991) who have registered with the following conditions of 1 or 2 and are able to prepare a tennis wheelchair specified on 3 below can participate (however, provided that entries are on a first-come, first-served basis)
 (1)Japanese nationals who wish to participate in wheelchair and quad tennis must register with the Japan Wheelchair Tennis Association before applying to participate.
 (2)Overseas nationals who wish to participate in wheelchair and quad tennis must complete one of the following procedures (but procedure A can only be applied to those who wish to participate in the quad tennis) and attach a PDF file of the relevant documents when applying for participation.
  *Athletes may be asked to submit documents as needed.
  a)Registration with IPIN (player registration system with the International Tennis Federation)
  b)Player registration with the National Federation in one’s own country
  c)Submission of a public certificate or doctor's certificate that can confirm lower limb impairments.
 (3)Participants in wheelchair tennis and quad tennis can only participate in a tennis wheelchair to ensure safety.

Tenpin Bowling

Anyone over the age of 30 (born on or before December 31, 1991) can participate.

Triathlon(Triathlon)

Minimum age is 30 (born on or before December 31, 1991) (※Age will be considered at as of December 31, 2021 for the competition date.) and requires to meet following eligibility.

〇Domestic Participants
・Participants must have a 2021 JTU membership.
Participants must enter a JTU membership number (10 digits) at the time of registration.
In addition, please include the membership number and check code for fy2020 before the start of JTU registration in 2021.
・Participants must to be “finishers of 2019 and/or 2020 JTU Age Group Ranking Race (limited to Standard distance)"
Any athletes who are not "finishers of 2019 and/or 2020 JTU Age Group Ranking Race (limited to Standard distance)" cannot participate in this competition.
・The qualification of an athlete with impairment who participates in the general division is equivalent to the qualification of the general division.
・Highlight in your column of the overall result of the targeted competitions and upload it at the time of registration.
・Registration of athletes who are not finishers of targeted competition will be canceled. Furthermore, in case refund is involved, athletes will get refund after the handling fee is deducted.

〇Oversea Participants
・Participants must register for a JTU one day membership (registration fee: 1,000 yen)
For foreign athletes registering as JTU in 2021 will receive refund at the competition briefing.
〇Para-Sports division
・Participants must have a 2021 JTU membership (limited to Domestic participants).
・Must fill in name of the Games either Domestic/Overseas' Para-Triathlon/Triathlon Race which participants finished in 2019 or 2020.
・Highlight in your column of the overall result and upload it at the time of registration.

Tug of War

Anyone over the age of 25 (born on or before December 31, 1996) can participate. In addition, the Tug of War competition will be held as a competition in which both participants with or without impairments participate, and those who have hearing impairments and those with intellectual disabilities will be given consideration for participation. For more information, please refer to the Tug of War Sport Information Guide.

Volleyball(Indoor)

If you wish to participate in both indoor and beach volleyball, there are two ways to make it possible:
(1) Indoor Volleyball (First half schedule) → Beach Volleyball (Fours)
(2) Beach Volleyball (Pairs) → Indoor Volleyball (Second half schedule)

However, please note that indoor volleyball has different age category for the first and second half of competition schedule (beach volleyball has only one age category)

① A public certificate or doctor's medical certificate proving that the Deaflympics criteria (55 dB) are met. Provided, however, that registration with the Deaf Sports Association is not required.
② Membership of Japan Deaf Volleyball Association.
③ Member of All Japan Deaf Federation or affiliated organisations.

Overseas nationals with hearing impairment who wish to participate in the competition may be requested to submit documents related to ①, ② or ➂ as needed.
① A public certificate or doctor's medical certificate proving that the Deaflympics criteria (55 dB) are met. Provided, however, that registration with the Deaf Sports Association is not required.
② Registration with the Deaf Sports Association in their own country. 

Weightlifting

Weightlifting is also a world championship, and we will target top ranking athletes of the 2020 World Championships, therefore we plan to start accepting entry in December 2020.
Eligibility
(1) Athletes must have achieved the qualifying standard for their age group and bodyweight category in an official event.
(2) Participation must be approved by the Member Federation of the IWF in their own country in order to check the presence or absence of sanctions.
(3) Lifting sessions will be conducted beginning with the oldest age groups first, and the youngest age groups last. Within each age group, it will begin with the lightest bodyweight category first and the heaviest last. Some bodyweight categories will be grouped together depending on the number of lifters in an age group and bodyweight category.
(4) Participants will be selected in descending order from the results table of athletes who have achieved the qualifying standard for their age group and bodyweight category in an official event.
(5) Japanese athletes must have participated in or entered into the 2020 All Japan Masters Weightlifting Championships.

Age Requirements
(1) The minimum age to participate is 35 (born on or before 31 December 1986).
(2) In line with the sport-specific rules, an athlete must compete in their designated age group, with their age determined as of 31 December 2021. For example, if a person is 39 during Games time but has turned 40 by 31 December 2021, that person would compete in the 40-44 age category.
