Canoe(Sprint)

Sport Overview
In canoe sprint, up to nine boats start together and race on a straight course on a calm river, pond or lake. Events vary depending on the number of crew members or distance, and include the singles, doubles and fours, and the 200 m and 500 m. Furthermore, events are categorised into kayak (double paddle) and Canadian (single paddle) depending on the type of canoe.

Eligibility
(1)Japanese nationals with impairments who wish to participate must register with the Japan Para Canoe Association before applying for participation.
(2)Overseas nationals with impairments who wish to participate must register with the International Canoe Federation or the National Federation in their own country before applying for participation and submit a PDF file of the relevant documents.
【Age Requirement】
Minimum age is 30 (born on or before 31 December 1991)
In line with the sport-specific rules, an athlete must compete in their designated age group, with your age determined as at 31 December 2021. For example, if you are 39 during Games time but have turned 40 by 31 December 2021, you would compete in the 40+ age category.

Access | ・ From Kintetsu Nara Station, exit through East Gates and proceed to the ground floor of exit 2. Then proceed south on Higashimuki Shopping Mall, face the statue of Gyokibosatsu on your right. After a while, you will reach Sanjo Street, take a left on it. When Sarusawa Pond will be visible on your right, turn right and proceed toward the south. Then turn left at the corner of KOTOWA Nara Park (wedding hall), you will see the Nara visitor Center & Inn building. (8 minutes walk) ・ From JR Nara Station, proceed to East Gate, cross the traffic light in front of the Nara City Tourist Information Center and go east on Sanjo Street. When Sarusawa Pond will be visible on your right, turn right and proceed toward the south.
