Shooting(Clay)

In clay shooting, competitors use a shotgun to shoot down targets in the air. The targets are small unglazed plates known as clays. Events include trapshooting, which involves shooting clays flying in the forward direction, and skeet shooting, which involves shooting clays that come flying from both sides alternately or simultaneously.

Competitors need to hit targets flying at speeds of 22 to 30 metres per second with pellets travelling at 300 metres per second or faster, which requires very quick reflexes and fine movements.

1.Japanese athletes must be in possession of a legal license for possession of guns or an explosives transfer permit (firearms cartridge permit).
* At the time of the event, participants must present　a copy of the registration certificate from the Japan Clay Shooting Association or the firearms cartridge permit.
2.Japanese nationals who wish to participate in the Para-Trap competition must register with the Japan Para Shooting Sport Federation before applying for participation.
* Participants must present both copies of the registration certificate of the Japanese Sports Shooting Federation for the Disabled and the firearms cartridge permit.
3.Further information for those who will be participating in the games from overseas, including the Para-Trap event, will be announced at a later date.

[Age Requirement]
The minimum age requirement is 30 (born on or before 31 December 1991).
In line with the sport-specific rules, an athlete must compete in their designated age group (with your age determined as of 31 December 2021). For example, if you are 49 during the time of the Games, but will be turning 50 by 31 December 2021, you would have to compete in the 50+ age category.
